Terms of Service
Last updated 1 November 2026
These terms govern your use of the Bootstrapper construction estimating and project management service (the "Service"), provided by Bootstrapper ("we", "us"). When you use the Service you are contracting with Bootstrapper. By registering or continuing to use the Service you agree to these terms.
1. Account registration
You must be at least 18 and, if registering for a business, have authority to bind it. Provide accurate information, keep it up to date and keep your login details confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
2. Company and team member accounts
A company account is owned by the person who creates it. The owner can invite team members, who join the same company account and can only access the projects the owner assigns. The owner is responsible for their team's use of the Service. Your customers can be given access to their own projects free of charge; they never see your private costs or receipts.
3. Subscription billing
The Service is offered for £20 per month per company account, plus £10 per month for each additional team member, as shown on our Pricing page. Applicable taxes are added at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, renewal and refund terms are set out in Paddle's Buyer Terms.
4. Seven-day free trial
New company accounts get a 7-day free trial. A payment card is required to start it. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts and you are charged automatically.
5. Cancellation
You can cancel at any time from your Account page. Your access continues until the end of the paid period and is not renewed. See our Refund Policy.
6. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the Service, including by:
- using it for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or to send spam;
- uploading content that infringes anyone's intellectual property or privacy;
- interfering with its security, including malware, probing, scraping or bypassing access controls;
- reverse engineering, reselling or redistributing the Service.
7. Your data and ownership
You own the content you upload, including project records, plans, photos and documents. You give us a limited licence to host and process it only to provide the Service. You are responsible for having the right to upload customer information and for how you use it. We own the Service, its software and branding, and grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it during your subscription.
8. Service availability and limitations
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change features over time. Keep your own copies of important documents.
9. Estimates, QS and calculations
The Service helps you calculate estimates, quantities and totals from the figures you enter. Plan scanning suggests materials and flags uncertain quantities but cannot replace professional measurement. You are responsible for checking every quantity, price, quote and invoice before relying on or sending it.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, implied warranties are excluded, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of profit, data or goodwill. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end access for material breach, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious breaches of these terms. You may close your account at any time.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. Consumers may also have the right to bring claims in their home courts. You may not transfer these terms without our consent. Neither party is responsible for delays caused by events outside its reasonable control.
